What to do about a guy that is TOO NICE?

He won't let me do anything. I was brought up that I do everything for myself- and that's how I like it. Well, he wants to put my trash in the garbage can, put up my chair, clean this, do that and it's annoying! He is so nice, I don't want to shut him down, but I told him I could do it myself and he said "geez, sorry, I was just trying to help." I feel bad, but he makes me feel so little...
