Will this go kart work?

Alright, I want to make a go kart that runs on a DC motor (alternator, starter, vacuum, etc.) and run it on a car battery. I'm also running headlights. I'm using Bike tires and a skid brake. And a wood frame. How much will it cost, and will it work?
