Mystery Banging noise from boiler/heating, no plumber can figure it out?

Open all the thermostatic valves on the radiators fully and see if the noise is still there. If not one or more valves are fitted the wrong way round or faulty. Only a guess but simple to try and eliminates one possibility. If a faulty pump or motorised valve a plumber will need to check this.
